Kazan Federal University

Special realtor service to be offered to students

A meeting on the subject took place on July 28.

An agreement was signed by Vice-Rector for Education Timirkhan Alishev, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs Arif Mezhvedilov, Director of KFU Student City Radik Nikolaev, Director of Kvartika LLC Vladimir Shaykhiev, and President of the Guild of Realtors of Tatarstan Andrey Savelyev.

As Dr. Alishev noted, the lack of accommodation in student dorms is a persistent problem, “There is not a single university in the world able to provide each student with a dorm placement. So far, there was no single solution for KFU students who couldn’t receive such a place. Our objective is to create a transparent system of accommodation for incoming students. This agreement is a first step in that direction.”

As is planned, students will be able to use the service from their personal accounts in the university’s IT system.

“Starting from 25 August, when arriving students check in their dorms, they will be informed of the availability of such a service. We plan that during the next year, all technological aspects of cooperation can be streamlined. Working with the Guild of Realtors is the guarantee of legal safety,” continued Alishev.

When the check-in period comes, the Guild will dispatch representatives to communicate with students directly. A Telegram channel is also in the plans.

“The apartment rental market is quite closed, and there are cases of fraud. This cooperation aims to give students quality accommodation with legal support. This is the first such project in Russia,” commented Savelyev.

As currently agreed, the system will comprise between three and five thousand apartment before September.
