University toured by Ambassador of Lithuania Eitvydas Bajarūnas
The visit took place on 8 October.
The Ambassador was accompanied by Counsellor to the Rector for International Cooperation Linar Latypov and Deputy Director of the Institute of International Relations Albina Imamutdinova.
Mr. Bajarūnas went to KFU’s History Museum and discussed the University’s and Lithuanian colleagues’ cooperation with the welcoming side.
2021 is marked as the Year of History and Culture in Lithuania and the 700th anniversary of the presence of Tatar people in the country. The year comprises various cultural events; in particular, on the day of the Ambassador’s visit to KFU, a film about Lithuanian Tatars titled “The Ring of Loyalty” was shown in Kazan.
“I am interested in the cultural and economic ties between Tatarstan and Lithuania and the cooperation between our educational institutions. I am glad to have visited Kazan University,” shared Mr. Bajarūnas. He also noted that it’s important to seek new formats of collaboration.
As for KFU, it currently has work ties with Vilnius Gediminas Technical University. Over 100 joint publications have seen light in cooperation between KFU and Lithuanian institutions.
