Visit by Ambassador of Burkina Faso Antoine Somda

The guest arrived on July 30.

After touring the History Museum and the Lenin Memorial Classroom, the Ambassador was welcomed by Counsellor to the Rector Linar Latypov and Deputy Director of the Institute of International Relations Liliya Ilikova.

Dr. Latypov briefly introduced the university and its cooperation with African countries. Liliya Ilikova spoke about KFU’s Department of Oriental, African and Islamic Studies.

Antoine Somda responded, “Our young people are enthusiastic about new technology, and we need experts in mathematics and physics. Also of interest are international relations and the resource industry. We hope to arrange fruitful cooperation between your university and our universities.”

Counsellor Latypov said that KFU employees may soon organize joint seminars with Burkinese colleagues and visit the country.
