Kazan Federal University

Visit by Ambassador of Zimbabwe Mike Nicholas Sango

The Zimbabwean delegation arrived on July 29.

On KFU’s behalf, the meeting was conducted by Vice-Rector for Education Timirkhan Alishev.

This was Ambassador Sango’s second visit to the University, with the first having taken place in April 2021. During yesterday’s talks, Dr. Alishev gave a brief presentation of KFU’s current situation, while the Ambassador focused on cooperation prospects with Manikaland State University of Applied Sciences.

HE Mr. Sango said that Zimbabwe is keen on tapping into its rich natural resources, among them gold and diamonds. This is something that could be of interest for KFU’s Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies.

As of now, there are four Zimbabwean students at our institution, with three studying medicine and one enrolled in geology.

In conclusion, the guest noted, “Our main priority is that Zimbabwean students return to the home country after graduating from KFU. We need qualified staff to develop the nation. We hope that the number of top Zimbabwean students at Kazan Federal University grows in the future.”
