Year-end meeting of the Council of Rectors of Tatarstan discusses youth policy and volunteering

The executives convened at Kazan University’s Lobachevsky Library on 8 December.

They were joined Chairman of the Committee of the State Duma for Youth Policy Artyom Metelyov, Minister of Youth Affairs of Tatarstan Timur Suleymanov, and Executive Director of the Information and Resource Center of Volunteering in Tatarstan Ayrat Mubarakshin.

In particular, it was mentioned that about 16 thousand students partake in the volunteer movement in Tatarstan. However, this work needs to be systemized and made more prominent in the long run in every volunteer’s life.

Rector Ilshat Gafurov to conduct further strategic sessions to discuss training opportunities for tutors and social activism consultants. He also mentioned that there is still a lack of infrastructure for education, artistic events, and sports in the region. The University has already addressed the provincial leadership with a request to construct all-in-one university campuses for studies, rest, sports, and extracurricular activities.
