Employees of Guangzhou Institute of Science and Technology receive internship certificates

Twenty persons have completed their course in prompt engineering, IoT, and project management.

Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev noted that the internship was made possible thanks to a memorandum of understanding signed by the two sides in October 2023.

“I hope that you liked the program and the experience. It’s important to us that Kazan University and its labs be seen as a place for high-quality research,” said Dr Alishev.

He mentioned that KFU currently has 12,500 international students and 2 overseas branches, “We have several dozen partners in China and several network programs on undergraduate and graduate levels. We are interested in continuing such cooperation with Guangzhou Institute of Science and Technology in internships and network programs.”

Dean of GZIST’s School of International Education Liang Xuehong thanked the University and the Institute of AI, Robotics and System Engineering.

He reminded that this year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Russia and added, “This internship is the first such experience for our Institute. We will relay it to our colleagues. We hope such internships can become an annual event.” Mr Liang invited KFU representatives to visit Guangzhou.

The guests shared their impressions from the studies.

Deputy Dean of the School of Technology and Engineering Chen Yiping opined, “The advanced training program was catered to our demands. High-quality professionals worked with us here. A lecture on the theory of solutions of invention tasks was especially memorable. We solved a lot of cases in engineering. This internship was very important and useful to me. I also want to note that you have interesting ideas in studies methodology which we plan to use with our students.”

Chair of the Department of Robotics and AI Zhang Defu said, “During our studies at KFU we got acquainted with the history of this outstanding institution and the history and culture of Tatarstan and Tatar people. We found out that people of various ethnicities and faiths live peacefully in this Republic. I had a very bright impression from our tours of the Institute of AI, Robotics and System Engineering and the Astronomical Observatory.”

For the employee of the School of Architectural Engineering Yang Lingqing this was a first such overseas internship, and she had much to say, “The interdisciplinary lectures helped us expand our outlook on things. Of special use, in my opinion, were such modules as the Internet of Things and Project Design. I was impressed by the scope of international projects implemented by KFU. As an architect, I was also interested to see the buildings of the university – as it happens, many of them are historical monuments. The buildings were really constructed to stand for centuries, and they have a great and complex heating system. It’s important that KFU preserves the old structures in mint condition. I love this caring approach to history and architecture. There is much to learn from you.”
