Executive Director of International Institute of Public Policy and Management (University of Malaya) Anis Yusal Yusoff visited KFU

The cooperation between the universities may include Islamic banking and public administration.
The guest was met by Timirkhan Alishev, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of KFU. The meeting was also attended by Igor Privalov, Director of the Higher School of Public Administration (HSPA), Ilnur Sharipov, Deputy Director of HSPA, and Yana Evdokimova, Deputy Director of the International Office.
Addressing the guest, the Vice-Rector said that Kazan University is the second oldest university in Russia, and in November the university will celebrate a big anniversary – 220 years, to which Anis Yusal Yusuff was invited in a distance format.
“The charter of Kazan University stipulated that one of its main tasks was to train people for the civil service. It started to do this from the day of its foundation and today it continues to fulfill this task with honor, thanks to the presence of the Higher School of Public Administration, headed by Igor Privalov,” said Dr Alishev.
At the same time KFU offers bachelor’s and master’s programs in public administration at the Institute of Management, Economics and Finance.
Further, the Malaysian guest learned about the history of Kazan University, its structure and strategic projects.
“This is a leading regional center of advanced training and professional development, and it enjoys great prestige. Civil servants come here not only from Russia, but also from partner countries, in particular Central Asia, to study management practices of the Republic of Tatarstan. What is the advantage of the school? It caters to your specific needs with its programs,” added the Vice-Rector about HSPA.
The Vice-Rector noted that 80% of KFU students hail from Muslim countries.
Next, Dr Yusoff took the floor and spoke about the educational programs of INPUMA. Its activities are mainly focused on Islamic finance, public administration, and national media.
So far, KFU cooperates with three universities in Malaysia: the Islamic Science University of Malaysia, the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation, and the University of Technology Malaysia. In the near future the University of Malaya should join the list.
In conclusion, the parties expressed hope for mutual cooperation and exchanged memorable gifts.
After the meeting Dr Yusoff read a lecture for Tatarstani civil servants as part of his contribution to the Russia – Islamic World KazanForum 2024.
