KFU expanding regional presence at Russian Education Tashkent 2023 expo

The event was organized by Rossotrudnichestvo on 22 – 23 September with support from the Uzbekistani government and the Russian embassy in the country and hosted by MGIMO University’s Tashkent Branch.

The delegation comprised Director of the International Office Olga Vershinina, Deputy Secretary of the Admission Commission Albina Borisova, and Lead Specialist of International Admissions Unit Inga Nazarova.

The expo featured over 50 leading Russian universities.

Director Vershinina commented, “The opening day was fruitful and packed. Kazan and Kazan University are popular in Uzbekistan, so high schoolers and their parents frequented our booth. Of primary interest are medicine, IT, international relations, design, and admission to KFU’s Jizzakh Branch.”

Some parents stopped just to say thanks to KFU because their kids had already enrolled and were doing well at the University.

For KFU, it’s important to be visible on the Uzbekistani market, which currently has dozens of branches and offices of overseas institutions, including 14 from Russia.

The KFU delegation also toured the Russian Cultural Center in Tashkent to meet with prospective enrollees.

Kazan Federal University currently hosts almost 2,000 Uzbekistani nationals, of which 276 individuals at Uzbekistan’s Jizzakh Branch.
