KFU toured by Ambassador of Pakistan to Russia Faisal Niaz Tirmizi

The guest arrived on November 12th.

As of now, KFU is the only Russian member of COMSTECH, a body of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation headquartered in Pakistan and handling the OIC’s scientific and technological cooperation.

The Ambassador sightsaw the History Museum, the Emperor Ballroom, and the Lenin-Tolstoy Memorial Classroom, and spoke with First Vice-Rector Dmitry Tayursky and Director of the International Office Olga Vershinina.

Dr Tayursky outlined the University’s current situation and mentioned that OIC, KFU, and Ural Federal University signed an academic mobility agreement at Russia – Islamic World Kazan Forum 2025. The agreement includes academic exchange both as part of ongoing COMSTECH projects and KFU’s Lobachevsky Program for young scientists.

Moreover, KFU has organized three OIC Scientific Youth Congresses, the latest being from 1st to 4th October, 2025. This year, 94 young scientists joined the event, including 8 Pakistani nationals.
