Memorandum of understanding signed with Sumgait State University

The Azerbaijani delegation visited on 15 November.

It comprised Rector Rufat Azizov, Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Electric Power Engineering Tamella Ahmedova, and Associate Professor of the Department of Solid Body Physics and Semiconductors Khayala Aliqulieva.

The guests toured the museums of the Main Building and met with KFU representatives – Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev, Director of the Institute of AI, Robotics and System Engineering Dmitry Chikrin, Chair of the Department of Technical Physics and Energy Nail Kashapov, and others.

Rector Azizov mentioned that Kazan University is quick to adapt to contemporary realities and work with industrial partners, which is important for a university of the 21st century; he added, “It’s very important for us to cooperate with Russian universities.”

He then talked about his institution and put forth proposals of cooperation, including academic exchange and publications.

Vice-Rector Alishev thanked the guests for the visit and assured that the KFU will extend invitations to cofnerences in engineering and natural sciences.

The sides then signed a memorandum of understanding to promote ties in educational and research projects.
