Talks held with delegations from Malaysia and Oman

They arrived as part of visits to the Russia – Islamic World KazanForum 2023; the guests were greeted by Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev, Director of the International Office Olga Vershinina, and representatives of KFU institutes.

The delegation of the University of Technology Malaysia was headed by Vice-Chancellor Datuk Ahmad Fauzi Ismail. He and his colleagues toured KFU museums and sat down to discuss cooperation. Both sides showed presentations of their respective institutions. Common interest was found in business education, physics, information technology, and petroleum research – KFU has already been collaborating with Malaysian peers in the latter area. As of now, there is only one Malaysian student at KFU, and Vice-Rector Alishev expressed hope that the number will grow significantly in the following years.

The University was then visited by a sizable team from the Sultanate of Oman which comprised Ambaasador of Oman to Russia Hamoud Salim Abdullah Al Tuwayah, Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, his undersecretary Khamis bin Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Shamakhi, chief of staff of said ministry Bashar bin Issa bin Salih Al-Balushi, Director of the Department of Roads and Land Transport Salakh bin Khalifa bin Dakhi Al Shukaili, and Deputy CEO of the Oman Logistics Center Awad bin Salim Mohamed Al Sadayri. As is the case with Malaysia, there is only one Omani student at KFU. Our University has been engaged in cooperation with Oman’s Sultan Qaboos University in petroleum science.
