University renews memorandum of understanding with Partap College of Education

The Indian delegation visited on 13 December.

The College was represented by Principal Balwant Singh and Vice-Principal Manpreet Kaur.

On KFU’s side, the meeting featured Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev, Director of the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication Radif Zamaletdinov, Deputy Director of said institute Elzara Gafiyatova, and Associate Professor Svetlana Karkina.

After touring the museums, the guests listened to a presentation of the University’s current developments. As of now, there are 129 Indian nationals enrolled in KFU. There is also the Center for Indian Studies working here.

“The majority of Indian students learn medicine in Russian universities. However, the main line of cooperation we discussed today is in teacher education,” commented the Vice-Rector.

The sides extended the term of the memorandum signed in 2019. The document regulates student exchange, academic exchange, advanced training, joint research, network programs, and joint participation in international conferences and relevant events.

“More than 60 percent of our 5,000 students are enrolled in teacher education programs. Partap is a professional educational institution for teacher training, and over the past few years we have been cooperating very closely with the College. In addition, we conduct joint activities in terms of research and development, and to date we have published dozens of articles on the problems and technologies of teacher training,” said Dr Zamaletdinov.

On 14 December, Principal Singh is going to contribute to the 4th Kazan International Linguistic Summit at KFU.
