Open Doors scholarship starts 2024-2025 season

Registration for the Open Doors: Russian Scholarship Project 2024-2025 is now open. Foreign applicants for bachelor’s, master’s and postgraduate programs are invited to participate.

The contest is founded by the Global Universities Association with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and Rossotrudnichestvo.

Every year, the winners of the intellectual competition have the opportunity to enter a program at leading Russian universities without entrance examinations and study at the expense of the Russian Federation or (if the postdoc track is chosen) to get a job in one of the proposed research projects. The winners of the competition will be able to enroll in the program through the “one-stop-shop” system, choosing any of the Russian universities. Training in the selected program is possible in Russian or English.

In addition to the postdoc track, another innovation this year is the opportunity to participate in the undergraduate track (a track for international students).

Participants of the undergraduate track must have documents confirming completion of secondary education. Participants in the graduate track must have a bachelor’s or specialist’s degree. Those planning to enroll in a PhD course will need a specialist or master’s degree. Participants in these three tracks may apply without the above documents only if they plan to complete their education at the appropriate level in 2025. Participants in the postdoc track have slightly different documentary requirements – they must have a PhD or DSc degree as of the registration start date (September 16).

Foreign citizens and stateless persons, including compatriots permanently residing abroad, are invited to participate.

Registration takes place on the website and for the Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD tracks will end on November 20. Registration for the postdoc track will take place from September 16 through December 10.

The Olympiad for the undergraduate and graduate tracks is conducted online in two phases. In the first phase, portfolios are evaluated. Successful participants are invited to the second stage where they solve tests. The postgraduate track, in addition to the first two stages, also involves a third stage – an online interview with a maximum of three potential supervisors of the participant’s choice.
