Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Valery Falkov visited KFU’s Higher School of Business after renovation

The tour was organized on 29 August.

Accompanied by Rector Lenar Safin and Director of the Institute of Management, Economics and Finance Alsu Akhmetshina, the officials walked through office facilities, public access zones, study rooms, training rooms, computer classes, the library, the archive, and the conference room.

The building on Yarullin street in Kazan not only completely changed after the repairs but also offers a new level of comfort for education.

The design was commissioned from KFU’s Institute of Design and Spatial Arts and curated by Associate Professor Yelena Denisenko.

She commented, “The spaces of the Higher School of Business are en ecosystem with ideal conditions for all types of activities. The core space is created by multifunctional halls for rest and communication. Study rooms are equipped with wheeled furniture, interactive screens and video conference systems, which makes it transformable for lectures, team assignments, or round tables in a matter of minutes. A special mirror room facilitates training of public speaking. All this has taken two years.”

Since 2023, large-scale renovations have been undergoing with support from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia and the Government of Tatarstan.

So far, renovations have been completed in five dorms of the Student City (in the Kazan city center) and five dorms in the Universiade Village.

Major repairs and refurbishment at four more dorms are planned for 2026 – three in Kazan and one in Naberezhnye Chelny.
