2023 Student Spring gala hosted by KFU

This year, the Student Spring festivities involved over 3 thousand students and 9 thousand spectators.

As usual, the gala, this time held on 19 April, was a full-scale play in two parts. The first part told a story of a playwright who lost his inspiration. After some soul-searching and listening to his inner voice he was able to find his muse once again. In a more humorous turn, the second part was about a down-on-his-luck hotel owner – to increase his revenue, he posted a fake announcement about a big theater festival taking place in his town; whereas, in fact, a similar event was to be held in a neighboring town. To keep up the swindle, the owner went as far as staging real performances with his employees. In the end, his hotel was visited by a hotel owner from the other town – who, incidentally, was the one set to host the participants of the real festival. After visiting the ‘fake’ festival, he was so impressed with its quality and jolly atmosphere that he decided not to hold a grudge.

The gala participants were greeted by First Vice-Rector Dmitry Tayursky. The award ceremony, as per tradition, featured three tiers of institutes – big, medium, and small. The Institute of Chemistry was the winner among the smaller institutes; the medium grand-prix went to the Institute of Social and Philosophical Sciences and Mass Communications; and the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communications shared the first prize with the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology among the larger institutes.
