Kazan Federal University

Rector Lenar Safin’s address on the Day of the Higher Education Teacher

Dear colleagues! Esteemed teachers and veterans of pedagogical profession!

On behalf of the staff, students of Kazan Federal University and myself personally, I congratulate you on the Day of the Higher Education Teacher!

This is one of the youngest holidays in Russia. It was first celebrated on November 19, 2021 – the birthday of the founder of Russian university education, the famous Russian scientist Mikhail Vasilyevich Lomonosov.

The very fact that higher education teachers have their own professional holiday testifies to the recognition of their merits and achievements, their invaluable contribution to the development of the national education system and the training of highly qualified competitive workers for society.

Today, university teachers are laying the foundation for economic prosperity for many generations to come. They are passionate about science themselves and awaken interest in research in their students, step by step bringing them closer to the heights of their own achievements.

It is gratifying that this day falls on the period when Kazan University celebrates its 220th anniversary. One of the oldest universities in the country has always been famous for its strong teachers and mentors. The intellectual elite of our society is concentrated here, a whole cohort of professionals whose work is associated with continuous creative search and development. These are the most worthy representatives of their profession!

Therefore, taking advantage of this opportunity, I sincerely want to wish you, dear colleagues, success and prosperity, and also thank you from the bottom of my heart for your work and loyalty to your chosen cause. May your work always have room for inspiration, spiritual uplift and optimism.

Happy holiday!
