The forum’s program is scheduled for 2 – 3 November.
The Forum is aimed at improving the biological literacy of pedagogical staff, reducing the mortality of children in educational institutions, legal regulation of first aid and mastering the practical skills of first aid by teachers.
Chairman of the Health Committee of the State Duma Badma Bashankaev spoke at the opening ceremony.
“The teaching of first aid has taken to the wing. I am glad that Kazan has raised such a bar that it would be difficult for other cities to overcome. And I thank all the participants. Mastering first aid skills is necessary for every person, even more so for a teacher. It is done for us, for our loved ones, children, and for everyone,” said the parliamentarian.
The opening was also attended by the President of Kazan Federal University Riyaz Minzaripov and Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan – Head of the Health Department of Kazan Vladimir Zhavoronkov.
“The forum is very important and relevant. And it sharpens our attention to the fact that it is important to be able to provide assistance. I would like to wish all of you successful work. By holding this event, we are all doing a great job,” said Dr Minzaripov. He thanked the Institute, the Government of Tatarstan, and the Ministry of Health of Tatarstan for participation.
Earlier, a first aid Olympiad among Kazanian teachers was held as part of the forum, and the winners and prize-winners were awarded at the opening ceremony. KFU Lobachevsky Lyceum took first place in the Olympiad, while the IT Lyceum was awarded with memorable gifts. Before the forum, short training sessions were held at the abovementioned schools to teach first aid to the educator staff.
“I decided to take part in the forum to learn something new and to remember what I was taught at university. Besides, this knowledge is vital. If you look at the statistics of Russia, quite a large number of schoolchildren die because there is no person nearby who could provide help before the ambulance arrives. Therefore, the importance of these skills is invaluable,” said Yulia Solnyshko, a physical education teacher at Kazan’s School N 57.
