InnoVerse50+ launched as part of 5th Kazan Global Youth Summit

The event is organized by the Islamic Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) with the participation of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation and the Global Innovation Institute.

INNOverse50+ is a two-day, hands-on program that will bring together over 50 young leaders from 25 countries to collaborate on innovative solutions to current challenges. Participants will form mixed international teams across five crisis areas: “Climate and Environmental Crisis,” “Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence Crisis,” “Reputation and Communication Crisis,” “Healthcare and Biosecurity Crisis,” and “Socioeconomic Crisis.”

Welcoming remarks were made by Timur Suleimanov, Aide to the Rais (Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan, Head of the Regional Branch of the All-Russian Children’s and Youth Movement of the First; Azat Kadyrov, Minister of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan; and Timirkhan Alishev, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of Kazan Federal University.

Representing ISESCO, Dr. Sally Mabrouk, Director of the Office of the Director General, addressed the guests.

“As the Cultural Capital of the Islamic World in 2026, Kazan demonstrates that heritage and innovation can go hand in hand. Kazan Federal University provides the summit with more than just a meeting place. It creates an intellectual platform where knowledge, international dialogue, and youthful imagination meet,” she said.

Following the opening ceremony, a press briefing was held, during which the leaders gave comments.

According to Suleimanov, the event will cover topics such as access to education, youth mobility, migration, and the quality of education, taking into account the challenges posed by the development of artificial intelligence technologies, among other issues.

“The main goal is to work with the speakers to develop concrete solutions to issues and problems that the participants can apply upon returning home,” said the official.

Azat Kadyrov described the Republic of Tatarstan as a region with a broad international and youth agenda. He stated that the ideas discussed at the global summit are being implemented, thereby motivating young people to attend the event and exchange opinions.

“I hope the number of interested participants will only grow. And the ideas the participants will propose will help solve global problems and improve the quality of life on our planet,” he shared.

Dr Alishev spoke about the events being held at the university as part of the Kazan Global Youth Summit, in addition to InnoVerse. He recalled the rectors’ forum, which will take place today, and announced the presentation of a report based on a Kazan University study on young people’s perceptions of their futures: educational and professional trajectories. The traditional annual popular science project, PROScience, which is celebrating its anniversary this year, was also named.

“Kazan is undoubtedly an international city, and Kazan University is an international platform,” he concluded.

Alishev listed the global events in which KFU has participated, including the Summer University project, the 4th International ROSTKI Russia-China Forum, and the Kazan Global Youth Summit. This coming September, the university is hosting a summit of young scientists.

“These are ongoing calendar events on the international agenda, which are very actively supported by the Republic of Tatarstan,” concluded the Vice-Rector.

Sally Mabruk spoke about the significance of the summit for cooperation between ISESCO and KFU.

“We are pleased that technologies are being implemented here. It is very difficult to find a university that can combine both history and a commitment to the future. This perfectly aligns with the university’s new vision, which embraces culture and values ​​while simultaneously looking forward,” she said.

The 5th Kazan Global Youth Summit is being held in Tatarstan from August 26 to 30. The main theme is “Education in the Era of Global Change: Human Resources for Sustainable Development.” It will be attended by 250 delegates from 50 countries: heads of departments of youth, labor, culture, education, and science, heads of international organizations and higher education institutions, experts, young leaders, and influencers. The summit will include activities open to all residents and tourists.

The summit is organized by the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Youth Forum of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and Kazan Federal University.
