Kazan Yulbars wins Best Student Sports Club in the Volga Federal District title in 2023/2024
A ceremony was held in Saint-Petersburg.
Head of the Department for the Organization of Physical Education, Mass and Sports Activities Aleksey Levanov (Department of Youth Policy) became the winner in the nomination “For contribution to the development of student sports in an educational organization of higher education”.
“The year turned out to be very rich in sports events, and most importantly – in high results. Our athletes continue to represent the university, the Republic and the country with dignity. Among the significant victories, I would highlight the All-Russian Summer Universiade and International Starts. The medals won at these competitions give a great impetus to the development of sports at the university. As for the development of mass student sports, the vector is set correctly here. The proof can be the fact that Kazan Yulbars have been among the best student sports clubs in the country for more than 10 years,” says Levanov.
According to Levanov, 2025 will be the qualifying year for the All-Russian Summer and Winter Universiades of 2026.
“The plans for the future, as always, are grandiose – to continue to reach heights with our athletes, to carry the KFU flag with pride. Students, under the sensitive guidance of their mentors, do a lot of work to achieve the desired result. As a result, we are the leaders in the Spartakiad of educational institutions of higher education of the Republic of Tatarstan this academic year. We have won many all-Russian and international awards,” he notes.
Kazan University traditionally pays great attention to physical education and healthy lifestyle of its students, providing them with opportunities to engage in various sports.
“The performance of the Kazan Yulbars athletes was determined based on the results of the academic year. The sports component intersected with the educational one, the club representatives had to not only participate, but also be among the leaders. Our sports club, the only one from the Republic, was able to get into the top 5 strongest sports clubs in the country. Next year, our club faces the task of changing the format for new Association of Student Sports Clubs projects,” the winner concludes.
