KFU athletes return from the Association of Student Sports Clubs Fest with nine medals

This year’s concluding tournament took part in the federal territory of Sirius.
The event, attended by more than 2,500 people, included the final stages of the ASSC championship, club tournament, and battle of the fans. In addition, a business and educational program was organized.
The first day saw three Kazanian students win medals in badminton: Ruzalina Mubarakshina – silver in the women’s tournament, and Maxim Shveikin and Bulat Khuzin – silver and bronze respectively in the men’s tournament.
The second day was also successful for many teams and individual players, including football, chess, and volleyball.
On the third day, the women’s volleyball team didn’t make to the playoffs. In a dramatic semifinal, the men’s soccer team lost a penalty shootout and took 4th place. Badminton players were victorious once again, with men’s doubles winning silver and women’s doubles finishing with the bronze. The chess team was 4th, akin to their football peers. Women’s basketball squad lost in the final, with our player Diana Galina taking the top scorer of the tournament award.
“I think I will be impressed for a long time after the intense days of the festival,” said badminton player Ruzalina Mubarakshina. “We had an incredibly tight schedule with a lot of games. During the three game days we gave our best, and I think we did very well.”
