KFU’s fitness aerobics team wins Division B competition in Kazan

The young women will now join the Russian Cup.

The tournament featured 1,100 athletes comprising 167 teams from 21 Russian provinces competing in three disciplines – fitness aerobics, step aerobics, and hip hop.

Siyaniye (Shining), KFU’s fitness aerobics squad, is trained by Associate Professor Larisa Maslova. The Kazanites faced five competitors from Tatarstan and nearby stages. The resulting first place now makes them eligible for the national finals of Division A in Moscow. They have already started training for this upcoming challenge.

Dr Maslova notes, “This time, we chose Eastern motives for our performance. Overall, we have four different formats, and we have started making them more complex.”
