Student volunteers form part of rapid response team to hospital fire

A conflagration happened at Kazan City Hospital #18 on 28 January.

Philology students Marat Sadykov and Victor Voropaev joined a volunteer response team and helped in cleaning, garbage removal, and equipment disassembly. The effort was coordinated by the Youth Wing of the All-Russian People’s Front.

Mr Voropaev informs, “As soon we found out about the disaster, we started asking whether any help is necessary. And then we moved to the place with our team.”

The students have been cooperating with the hospital since the COVID pandemic, when they delivered drugs to people in need.

Marat Sadykov adds that this was not the first such case in their practice. He thinks that volunteering is first and foremost about honesty and sincerity, “A volunteer doesn’t need motivation for good deeds. I want to thank my parents who have supported me in my activities since early years, and, of course, also Kazan Federal University which gives immense support to volunteers.”
