African House opened in Kazan

The new establishment is co-organized by Kazan Federal University.

The opening event on 16 November was visited by Deputy Director of the Institute of International Relations Rafael Valeev, Deputy Director for International Affairs Albina Imamutdinova, Chair of the Department of African and Asian Studies Nailya Mingazova, and Associate Professor of the Department of African and Asian Studies Ramil Yuzmukhametov.

Among the guests were representatives of the Union of African Diasporas in Russia, African International Congress, and others.

Director of the Institute of International Relations Ramil Khairutdinov opined, “Kazan will be hosting a BRICS Summit in October 2024, and we are in active preparation. Students are also ready to contribute and help the Republic of Tatarstan and the Government of Russia in organizing the event. That’s why we are seeking various way to improve the quality of language education and political awareness with organizations which share our University’s values.”

The African House will be a place for representatives of African countries and students to meet, conduct research, host events, and negotiate mutually beneficial matters.
