Chinese economist Andy Xie gives lecture at KFU



The Institute of Management, Economics and Finance (IMEF) hosted a meeting with a well-known Shanghainese economist. The guest spoke about the development of the Chinese economy in recent decades.
Andy Xie specializes in the economies of China and Asia. He previously served as Chief Economist for Asia Pacific at Morgan Stanley and is currently a director of Rosetta Stone Advisors and China Boqi Environmental Science and Technology. In 2013, he was named one of the 50 most influential people in global finance by Bloomberg. Mr Xie is known for his highly accurate predictions.
At the meeting, the guest spoke about the economic development of the People’s Republic of China over the past decades, during which the focus was on the development of manufacturing. In addition, Andy Xie gave examples of successful Chinese entrepreneurs and companies.
“The event is of great significance for education. We gained a professional perspective to evaluate the successful experience of China’s socio-economic development. The speaker emphasized that economic diversification was a key factor in the success of the Chinese entrepreneurial economy, which confirms the possibility of using Russia’s competitive advantages to achieve the goals of sustainable economic growth,” commented Director of IMEF Alsu Akhmetshina.
