Rector Lenar Safin holds meetings with general consuls of Uzbekistan and Türkiye

Fariddin Nasriev and Uğur Yılmaz visited on 5 December.

Mr Nasriev is leaving Kazan and paid his farewell respects to the Rector. Dr Safin thanked him for the support and contributions to the cooperation between Uzbekistan and KFU.

“We always felt your support and your eagerness to apply efforts for the good-neighborliness and mutually beneficial partnership for the benefit of Russian and Uzbekistani people. Our University has organized many events in collaboration with the Consulate General and Uzbekistani students,” mentioned the Rector.

He also noted the departing diplomat’s participation in KFU’s work of establishing a branch in Jizzakh, Uzbekistan.

Fariddin Nasriev expressed hope for further productive work in all the important areas.

KFU is currently a home for over 2,300 Uzbekistani nationals, which comprises a fifth of all international students here. There are many agreements with Uzbekistani universities and institutions.

A letter of appreciation was given to the Consul General in conclusion.

Conversely, Consul General Uğur Yılmaz introduced himself in his new capacity.

He and Dr Safin discussed pertinent issues of cooperation with Turkish universities, including the University of Ankara, Middle East Technical University, and TÜBİTAK Astronomical Observatory.
