Rector Safin hands out gifts to employees’ kids entering elementary school

Before September 1, the Help Prepare for School charitable campaign is traditionally held all over the country.

Every year Kazan Federal University actively participates in this campaign, and also helps children of its own employees.

This year 282 sets of school supplies are to be distributed first-graders. The Rector took part in one of the meetings with parents and their children.

The meeting was held in the hall of the Board of Trustees in a warm atmosphere at the tea table with various delicacies. Dr Safin emphasized that this year is special because it is aimed at strengthening family values.

“Family plays a very important role in a person’s life. It teaches moral, spiritual values, instills the right way of life. In the Year of the Family, the university has strengthened support measures for young families of employees and students. We have also provided monetary payments for the birth of a child. And it is definitely in our power to make every child of our employees go to school on the Day of Knowledge with pleasure,” he shared.

The Rector noted that one’s first day at school can be instilled in memory forever.

“I remember how I went to the first grade. The first teacher, friends, so many new and exciting things, opportunities that allow you to express yourself. I am happy with modern schools. Today they have everything for successful learning and development,” noted Dr Safin and expressed hope that the current first-graders, when the time comes, will become students of Kazan University.

Then he handed the children colorful backpacks with essential stationery and accessories. Such a set includes about 60 items, including notebooks, pens, drawing items, a pencil case, and much more.
