Yelabuga Institute celebrating 125th anniversary

The Institute’s Academic Board convened for a special meeting on 22 November.

Director of the Yelabuga Institute Yelena Merzon addressed the audience and informed that the Institute currently comprises 6 divisions, 4,623 students, 552 secondary school pupils, and 420 teachers across all levels of education.

Certificates of merit and travel gift cards were given out to distinguished workers and veterans.

Among the guests were General Director of the Yelabuga Museum Reserve Gulzada Rudenko, Head of the Department of Education of Yelabuga District Yelena Terentyeva, and Chairman of the Council of Veterans of Yelabuga District Gennady Baganov. Video messages were sent by Rector of Osh State Pedagogical Institute Bekmurza Zuluev and Yevgeniya Tretyakova, descendant of a wealthy merchant Glafira Stakheeva, the person who invested in constructing what would become the main building of Yelabuga Institute (initially Kazan Diocesan School).

Diplomas and commendations were also given to students who excelled in studies, athletics, and arts.
