Kazan Federal University

Additional protocol to memorandum of understanding signed with Ankara University

Rectors Lenar Safin and Necdet Ünüvar put pens to paper during a video conference call on 17 October.

The addendum includes further cooperation and details of the use of KFU’s Studerus online platform by Turkish partners.

Rector Safin noted that the signing is another step in developing links between the two institutions after the memorandum was signed in 2019, “Universities of the Turkish Republic are important partners for Kazan Federal University. Our linguists, archeologists, political scientists partake in joint conferences and roundtables. We also see a significant interest in learning Russian as a foreign language.”

He mentioned that KFU currently has 227 Turkish students, including 94 in the Preparatory School. Enhancing skills in Russian language is as pertinent as ever, and Rector Safin said that the new agreement is a timely measure in regard to this issue, “We are at the start of a big journey of working on big projects, strengthening international cooperation and cultural ties for the benefit of our nations.”

Rector Ünüvar thanked the Kazanian colleagues and opined that the addendum will become another link between the friendly peoples and academic communities of the two countries.
