Book of personal stories issued to celebrate 50th anniversary of the International Friendship Club

A presentation was held at the History Museum on 13 November.

The event was headlined by Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev and Director of the International Office Olga Vershinina.

The Vice-Rector reminded that KFU currently hosts over 12,000 international students from over 100 nations. The Club aims to integrate them into university life and implement their talents in studies, science, and extracurricular activities.

The celebratory book is called The Youth Singing a Song of Friendship, referring to the anthem of the World Federation of Democratic Youth (written by Soviet composer Anatoly Novikov and poet Lev Oshanin in 1947). The publication comprises facts about the history of the Club, its objectives and achievements. Copies were gifted to Vice-Rector Alishev, Director Vershinina, and Head of the Directorate of the Museum Complex Svetlana Frolova.

The Club’s contribution to the strengthening of ties between nations and cultures through the years has really been immense. As of now, it has an active role in organizing many significant events, such as Colors of the World Festival, Nawruz Festival, Chinese Culture Festival, sports competitions, and many other events.
