Chinese students receive additional education certificates from the Faculty of Law
The program in international business law, energy law and politics catered specfically to East China Petroleum University (UPC) students.
This was the inaugural graduation of the program. It includes classes in energy law, comparative law, international business law, international environmental law, arbitration, and language courses (English and Russian). 15 students received their certificates in a ceremony visited by Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev and Deputy Dean for International Affairs of the Faculty of Law Rustem Davletgildeev.
“We are now actively developing relations with China. About two thousand students from China study at KFU’s degree programs. One of the areas of interest for us is the development of additional professional education programs. These are short programs. We have quite a good experience in organizing such programs in geology, oil and gas technologies for specialists from China. But in the field of law, this is the first program of additional education, in this case in the field of energy law – a related field to the oil and gas business,” noted the Vice-Rector at the event.
The next student group from Qingdao is expected in February. The partners, as Dr Alishev emphasized, are content with how the program shaped up.
Dr Davletgildeev reminded that the course was designed for UPC and that the Faculty of Law and the Preparatory School for International Students now follow the trail of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies in this regard. The program agreement covers two more years.
“This program helped us to expand our opportunities. Previously, we studied only national law, but here we were able to study international law, to go deeper into it. While studying at Kazan University, we had the opportunity to participate in various events. For example, we took part in the Kazan International Legal Forum. I am very grateful to KFU and I believe that this program will contribute to the development of friendship between Russia and China,” said Liang Lishan, one of the certificate recipients.
