Delegation of the Institute of International Relations visiting Uzbekistan

Director of the Institute Ramil Khayrutdinov, Deputy Director for International Cooperation Albina Imamutdinova, Dean of the School of Historical Sciences and World Cultural Heritage Ayrat Sitdikov, and Associate Professor Yelena Vorobyova are in the country from April 6 to 12.

First, the delegation met with the Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in Uzbekistan Aydar Akhtareev. They presented some of the admission materials and spoke about current projects with Uzbekistani partners, such as Samarkand State University, Silk Road University, Samarkand Institute of Archeology, and Bukhara State University.

The guests then proceeded to Tashkent State Pedagogical University and its in-house secondary school. The Institute of International Relations supervises over 100 school students enrolled in specialized foreign language programs. The two universities also plan to launch joint programs in history, tourism, cultural heritage, African and Asian studies, and linguistics.

Finally, on 6 April, the delegates met with Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Elyor Makhmutov. KFU and DU plan to sign a memorandum of understanding.

On 8 April, the KFU employees visited the office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Uzbekistan. Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Mikhail Vozhdaev expressed interest in promoting KFU’s programs and study materials in local secondary schools.

On the same day, the Kazanites went to Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies. The sides plan to create joint programs in international relations, international tourism, and cultural heritage.

Finally, a number of meetings were held with local recruiting agencies to arrange business links in student enrolment.
