Executives of Cuba Petróleo Union receive advanced training at KFU
The CdoGEO Educational Center offers a short course in geological exploration techniques from 21 to 25 November.
Director of CUPET for Exploration and Production Juan Cristobal Hernandez Reyes comments, “Apart from the studies, we want to see what labs and research developments you have that can help us with our two key issues – production of high viscous oil and utilization of associated petroleum gas.”
The Cuban colleagues arrived just in time to witness celebrations of KFU’s 218th birthday – they visited the evening concert on 18 November and toured the History Museum and the Geological Museum.
Between 2015 and 2022, the CdoGEO Center revived the Soviet tradition of cooperation with Cuba and has graduated two groups of master students in petroleum engineering. Apart from that, 287 individuals have received training on site in Havana. KFU researchers in partnership with Zarubezhneft test and supply catalysts for viscous oil production at Boca de Jaruco oilfield in Cuba.
Among the lecturers at KFU courses are experienced employees from Bashneftegeofizika (Bashkortostan Petroleum Geophysics Company), TNG Group LLC, Mirrico, Paker LLC, and All-Russian Research Institute of Flow Measurement.
As for Russian language programs, CdoGEO offers them in geological technology of well exploration, navigation technology in geodesy and cartography, geodesy in exploration and construction, microseismic monitoring, geomechanical modelling of drilling, and other disciplines.
