Forum of International Alumni of Soviet and Russian Universities – Educators in the Middle East and Africa held in Cairo, Egypt

Over 200 individuals gathered in the Egyptian capital last week.

Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev showed a presentation of KFU’s activities and plans in the Middle East and Africa, “Since 2021, a network preparatory programs has been working in Egypt which includes a first semester on-site in Cairo. During their second semester, students are invited to Kazan to become immersed in Russian realities and the university life. Currently, a KFU branch project with Modern Group in under implementation in Cairo. This important international breakthrough for Kazan Federal University is to be turned into reality in 2023.”

A meeting was arranged for Russian delegates and the Ambassador of Russia in Egypt Georgy Borisenko. Negotiations also took place with Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Science of Egypt Essam Khamis. There were also talks with local universities, including Helwan University, one of KFU’s partners in the country. The two sides discussed future network programs.
