Kazan International Linguistic Summit (KILS-2022) opens proceedings

On November 14, 2022, the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication held first meetings of the III International Linguistic Summit.

The participants were greeted by the Chairman of the Russian Society of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (RSTRLL) Vladimir Tolstoy, Vice-Premier of Tatarstan Leyla Fazleeva, First Vice-Rector Dmitry Tayursky, and Director of the Yasnaya Polyana Museum Estate Yekaterina Tolstaya. A video message was sent by the President of the Russian Academy of Education Olga Vasilyeva.

In 2022, the event includes two major meetings: International Scientific Conference ‘Modern Linguistics: Theory and Practice’ and Linguistic Methodological Festival ‘Language Trends and Methodological Innovations’.

In addition to the plenary sessions, three sessions were held on the first day of the summit: ‘Computer and Corpus Linguistics’, ‘Paleo-Russian Studies and Digital Humanities’, and ‘Cognitive Linguistics’. During the sessions, reports were made both in Russian and English.

Among the contributors of the first day were Rector of Nukus State Pedagogical Institute (Uzbekistan) Bayram Otemuratov, Vice-Rector of Moscow State Linguistic University Olga Iriskhanova, Director of the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrey Kibrik, and others.
