Kazan University to assist in opening Ala Too Eurasian Technology Park in Kyrgyzstan, says Acting Rector Dmitry Tayursky

He spoke during the 2nd Forum of Rectors of Universities of Kyrgyzstan and Russia in Yekaterinburg on 8 June.

It was held by Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, Russian Union of Rectors, Moscow State University, Ministry of Science and Education of Kyrgyzstan, and Association of Universities of Kyrgyzstan.

Dr. Tayursky took the stage during a discussion about Ala Too, an upcoming technology to be run by the International University of Kyrgyzstan (IUK). He said that all the countries of the Eurasian Union will partake in the project. The park aims to launch initiatives in agriculture, entertainment, sports, fuel, energy, and satellite technology.

The Acting Rector also mentioned ongoing cooperation between KFU and Kyrgyzstani colleagues. In January 2022, chairman of the board of trustees of IUK Asylbek Aydaraliev visited Tatarstan and made a stop at Kazan University. He paid special attention to the University’s experience in marketization of research and our in-house technology park. KFU was invited to join the Ala Too Technology Park, and KFU and IUK signed a memorandum of cooperation.

“Innovations are always a big risk. There is a huge distance between a scientific idea and its implementation. And Ala Too Technology Park is set to become an environment where innovation projects will receive consulting and investment support,” added Tayursky during his speech.

The meeting gathered over 90 rectors from both nations. In conclusion, an agreement to establish the Association of Universities of Russia and Kyrgyzstan was signed.
