The Russia-Africa Club was established on 23 June by the Faculty of Global Processes of Moscow State University, the Commission for Ethnocultural Development under the Government of Moscow, the Foundation for Public Diplomacy, and the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum.

The first convention gathered 49 people from 27 countries, including Algeria, Benin, Burkina-Faso, United Kingdom, Gambia, Ghana, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Cameroon, Kenya, Côte d’Ivoire, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, United Arab Emirates, Palestine, Rwanda, Russia, Senegal, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Central African Republic, Eritrea, Ethiopia, and Republic of South Africa.

In their reports, Yuzmukhametov and Khramova mentioned the importance of multifaceted education for Africa experts with a special emphasis on local and regional cultures and traditions. They opined that African languages should be re-introduced at regional universities in Russia, i. e. outside Moscow and Saint-Petersburg. Kazan Federal University is already contributing, having launched courses in Swahili among its thirty-plus language programs for students.

Our university is going to host 3rd International Forum ‘Russia-Africa: Politics, Economy, Culture and History’ on 13-14 October 2022.
