KFU’s Supervisory Council nominates Lenar Safin for rectorship

A meeting was held on 24 March.

In his opening remarks, Chairman of the Supervisory Council, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov offered to vote on the nomination proposal.

Rector of Kazan Federal University is nominated by the Supervisory Council and then confirmed in post by the Government of Russia.

Note

Lenar Safin currently serves as First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Economic Policy of the Council of the Federation (Senate), the upper chamber of the Russian legislative body.

He worked as Minister of Transport and Roads of Tatarstan in 2010 – 2020 and as Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law of Kazan State University in 1995 – 2008.
