Meeting with Consul General of Uzbekistan in Kazan Fariddin Nasriev

He arrived to talk with Rector Lenar Safin on 3 November.

They were joined by Vice-Rector for External Affairs Timirkhan Alishev and Counsellor to the Rector Rashit Azimov.

The Rector mentioned that KFU currently hosts 2,283 Uzbekistani nationals, which comprises about 20% of the total body of international students. There are 50 standing cooperation agreements with Uzbekistani institutions and 61 joint programs of undergraduate and graduate levels.

Dr. Safin also thanked President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the leadership of Jizzakh Region for their support and participation in the opening of the Jizzakh Branch of Kazan University.

Fariddin Nasriev emphasized that such a project is really a pride for the Uzbekistani government, which is always keen to enhance Russian-Uzbekistani relations in trade, science, and education. The Consul regularly meets with compatriots studying at KFU and interviews them about their academic successes and living conditions.
