Over four thousand overseas nationals enrolled in Kazan University in 2022

The long admission campaign of this season started on 1 March.
Overall, more than 25 thousand applications were accepted from 10,566 foreign citizens. 4,170 persons were admitted from 72 countries.
“We see that the number of applications grew compared to last year. We are returning to pre-pandemic levels in terms of admission numbers,” says Vice-Rector for External Affairs Timirkhan Alishev. “This year, we have seen changes in the composition of countries which supply enrollees. Obviously, we have our traditional partners like Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and China. But significant growth was shown by Iran, Turkey, and Egypt.”
Iran and Turkmenistan together gave 38 percent of all freshmen this year. Among the most popular programs, as usual, are general medicine, dentistry, economics, international relations, and languages.
Fresh master student Zhang Yushu, a Chinese citizen, shares, “I like Kazan very much. It has its specific architecture, which is different from Chinese architecture. I am also interested in Russian culture. KFU is a very beautiful university, and students here are friendly. I am glad I chose Kazan University.”
Freshwoman Tsani Nadhira from Indonesia always intended to enroll specifically in KFU, “The atmosphere at KFU is very favorable. As a foreign student, I must say that everyone helps and understands the tribulations of the language barrier. I am very pleased to be here.”
Kazakhstani national Medina Izekenova always dreamt of studying medicine, “I was directed to the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology. I was very impressed by its lecture rooms, teachers, and my classmates, who are all very driven, sophisticated, and hardworking. A large library, museums, equipment – everything here is aimed at assisting students in acquiring knowledge and becoming qualified professionals.”
Notably, as the admission campaign for the central campus has finished, there is still ongoing enrolment in KFU’s joint programs with partners in other countries.
