Preparatory School launches online program based on Studerus software

This is the first fully online pre-university program available at Kazan Federal University.

This summer, the university graduated 1,300 individuals from its various preparatory programs. They include Russian and English lessons and speciality subjects.

“The number of prep students increased almost twofold in the academic year 2021/2022. It’s the biggest number in the Preparatory School’s history. We are very pleased that foreign students choose our university to prepare for degree programs. However, it has also become a significant workload for teachers, and Studerus digital platform has helped us cope with this development. We have also used it at our preparatory program in Cairo,” says Vice-Rector for External Affairs Timirkhan Alishev.

The platform supports Russian language studies up to B2 (upper intermediate) level and specialized subjects in Russian. It comprises audiovisual content and digital textbooks, including gamified content for easier learning of Russian grammar, spelling, and pronunciation.

This year, Studerus was considered sufficiently complete to launch a separate online program on its foundation. Naturally, the program is cheaper than on-site studies but is longer and requires more motivation, emphasizes Vice-Rector Alishev.

Studerus platform is going to be used at Belarus State University and Ankara University, and negotiations are ongoing with Iranian colleagues to utilized it for undergraduate programs.
