Territory of Knowledge Festival held on Russian Science Day
Over a thousand students and secondary schoolers visited the celebration on 8 February.
Interactive events, including science slams, trainings, quizzes, workshops, and demonstration experiments, were held on five floors of the UNICS Culture and Sports Center.
In particular, chemists showed a “chemical Lego” workshop to teach everyone to construct molecules and offered experiments titled Polymer Worms, Colloid Garden, Egyptian Night, and Espionage Mystery.
Pharmacists told everyone about plant-based medications and production of powdered drugs.
At a teacher education workshop, students shared their vision of School 2030 and competed in communication skills. At another booth, master classes in art therapy were conducted.
The visitors could also see a student-produced quad copter and play language games.
KFU employees presented many lectures, including Green Chemistry in Cosmetics, History of Diamonds, Why Do We Need Psychologists, Future Climate Change and Its Socioeconomic Implications, Comic Books of Today, Media Trends, and Everyday Nanotechnology.
The science slam included 10-minute pitches about graphics software, the nature of capitalism, aerial drones, oil refining, metamaterials, and law.
