Traditional Knowledge Day party held for freshmen at Universiade Village

Rector Lenar Safin visited the event on 1 September.

The students were also congratulated by Vice-Premier of Tatarstan, alumna Leyla Fazleeva. She wished everyone academic success and bright days of studentship.

He noted in his greeting, “I want to congratulate you on this special event – the beginning of student life! My life path also began within the walls of Kazan University. In addition to classical higher education, I made new friends here. We keep in touch to this day. I fondly remember those times. I hope that the period of student life will be bright and unforgettable for you too.”

Lenar Safin then gave out student IDs to those who excelled in their pre-university days, including winners of scientific contests. The freshmen filled a ceremonial time capsule with their written messages to future generations. They also returned favor to the Rector by gifting him several memorabilia, including a polo shirt and a baseball cap.

The evening concluded with a big concert.
