The delegation first arrived at the capital city of Ankara. A meeting was arranged with employees of Rossotrudnichestvo, Russia’s international humanitarian cooperation agency. Questions were discussed regarding Tatar language studies in Turkey, educational fairs, and student recruitment.

Later, the guests visited TOBB University of Economics and Technology; a cooperation agreement is in place with this institution since 2019. TOBB UET students currently study Russian language at KFU’s Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication.

“We presented KFU’s research areas and discussed double diplomas in international business. We have such a program here as well, at the Institute of Management, Economics and Finance. TOBB University has many internship partnerships with industrial enterprises, which could be of interest to our students,” comments Vice-Rector Alishev.

Talks also took place with Middle East Technical University, the highest-rated technological institution in Turkey. METU President Mustafa Verşan Kök received honorary doctorate from Kazan University in 2019. The two sides prolonged their existing cooperation agreement until 2027. Apart from launched projects in geology and hydrocarbon industry, the universities may collaborate in physics, IT, and industrial design. This fall, representatives of KFU’s Institute of Design and Spatial Arts plan to visit Ankara to continue the dialogue.

Further, the visitors arrived at the Social Sciences University of Ankara. This institution has recently established courses of Russian as a foreign language. Kazan University is ready to support this effort with textbooks and training sessions for teachers. The sides agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding on this and other matters.
