Young chemists receive 2022 Arbuzov Prize

The award is given for achievements in fundamental and applied chemistry.

Among the winners at the ceremony (held at KFU’s Museum of the Kazan School of Chemistry) were two PhD students of the Institute of Chemistry – Aydar Gayneev (Department of High Molecular and Organoelemental Compounds) and Andrey Sokolov (Department of Physical Chemistry). PhD student of the Department of Analytical Chemistry Ilvina Gafiatova received a special prize from the Committee of Youth and Children Affairs of the Executive Committee of Kazan.

The first prize went to Senior Research Associate of the Laboratory of Organic Compounds Pavel Padnya for his research of thiacalixarenes as delivery agents for drugs.

The second prize was awarded to Associate Professor Artur Khannanov and Research Associate of the Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry (Russian Academy of Sciences) Ruslan Shekurov.

The Arbuzov Prize is bestowed by the Executive Committee of the City of Kazan, Kazan Federal University, Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry, Kazan Technological University, and Tatarstan Chemical Society.

The competition is open for chemists under 35 years of age; in its 16-year history, the honor was given to over 70 young scientists.
