KFU represented at the 2024 World Youth Festival in Sirius

Over 200 delegates from Tatarstan are contributing to the huge event concluding on 7 March.

There are over 20,000 participants from 190 countries, including young leaders from business, media, culture, science, education, volunteering, sports, and other domains.

Univer TV host Yegor Belousov, one of KFU students at the festival, shares, “We went to the festival to learn something and to arrange new ties with young people from around the world.”

Each of the seven festival days is dedicated to one umbrella theme imbued in all of the day’s events and formats. Among the past days were family values, multi-ethnicity, and Russia’s unity.

Upon returning, Yegor will issue a special report about the festival in his authorial show Vympel (Bannerette).

The festival venue is designed like an airport where you can buy a ticket to the ‘Youth City’. The stylized city shows various regions of Russia, including Kazan and Tatarstan.

“There are two tracks at the festival – education and entertainment. We had a very fruitful time at the first one with many lectures and master classes. It was useful to make personal acquaintance with some of the speakers,” says Belousov.

The cultural program includes shows by Russian celebrities, open talks, meetings, and fairs.

The central event is followed by a regional program which is scheduled from 10 to 17 March and will cover 30 Russian cities.

This iteration is the third such festival in our country, with the first having taken place in Moscow in 1957 and the second in 2017 in Sochi.
