President of Russia Vladimir Putin’s address on the 220th anniversary of Kazan University

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin congratulated the staff, students and teachers of Kazan University on its 220th anniversary.

The head of state emphasized that behind this impressive date there is a long, eventful and bright achievements, a whole constellation of outstanding scientists, professors and teachers, world-famous research schools.

“And of course, the special pride of your illustrious university is a brilliant cohort of talented graduates who have made a huge contribution to the development of the national economy and medicine, education and science, literature and culture, found their calling in pedagogy, public service, government and military service,” Vladimir Putin emphasized.

The President added that today Kazan University is among the leading educational centers of the country. The atmosphere of bold scientific research and strong student kinship still reigns here, helping to achieve success in work and studies, to implement all plans.

“It is gratifying that, preserving the established traditions, you are open to everything new. Experienced teachers and mentors, the most modern educational technologies, serious research base allow you to look confidently into the future, to unite gifted, enterprising, purposeful young people in the main higher education institution of the Volga region. I wish you all the best,” the message reads.
