Biomedical education and research discussed with Deputy Governor of Tashkent Region Nazhmiddinkhodzha Sharipov
Rector Ilshat Gafurov and his colleagues welcomed the guest in the Main Building’s Blue Room on June 25.
The Deputy Governor said that President of Uzbekistan specifically instructs officials to pay the closest attention to medical education. Therefore, today the sides talked about arranging double diploma programs and research.
Omics technologies were specifically mentioned as an inalienable part of such cooperation.
Rector Gafurov drew the visitor’s attention to the fact that KFU prepares both practitioners and fundamental researchers.
Vice-Rector for Biomedicine Andrey Kiyasov emphasized that omics technologies constitute an entirely new realm of genetic science. He added that genomics are indeed the future of healthcare.
Deputy Governor Sharipov offered to unite the efforts of KFU’s Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology and the Center for Genomics and Bioinformatics of the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences in promoting the aforementioned areas.
