Cooperation discussed with State Institute of Agricultural Aero Photo Geodesy Surveying of Kazakhstan

The guests were accompanied by Director of the Institute of Physics Marat Gafurov.

He met with Deputy Director of SIAAPGSK Eldar Azizov. Also invited were Chair of the Department of Astronomy and Space Geodesy Vladimir Bezmenov and Associate Professor of the same department Renat Zagretdinov.

Mr. Azizov comments, “Our objective is to digitize the whole landmass of Tatarstan, which amounts to 272.5 million hectares; as of now, 81.6 million have been digitized. Employees of Kazakhstan Geodesy Company have interned at KFU, and they were very impressed. We’d like to cooperate with you and develop geodesy and cartography in Kazakhstan.”

Marat Gafurov informed that KFU and SIAAPGSK will sign a cooperation agreement to map agricultural lands of Kazakhstan.

Student exchange and internships were also discussed.
