Delegation of Uzbekistani and Kyrgyzstani academics witness KFU’s developments
A sizable delegation from two central Asian countries met with KFU executives on June 21.
Rector Ilshat Gafurov noted that Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have common priorities with regards to accelerated development of innovation and competitiveness of science, “This past year was complicated, and it showed the importance of face-to-face meetings to reach deeper understanding and mutual agreement. For Kazan Federal University, Central Asian countries are one of the priority regions for cooperation.”
He emphasized that KFU moves towards personalized approaches to teaching and has been implementing a number of measures with that in mind.
“De facto, the implementation of joint educational projects goes hand in hand with economic cooperation, and education is one of the pillars helping to address complex socio-economic challenges. I am convinced that we together can assist in bringing up a new generation of young people who will serve the blossoming of our countries,” he added.
The participants of the talks then discussed double diplomas, PhD and DSc programs, advanced training, teacher education, and other issues. The most important areas for collaboration are IT, petroleum and gas, geology, healthcare, foreign languages, economics, physics, chemistry, and biology.
Director of the Institute of Psychology and Education Aydar Kalimullin made a separate presentation about pedagogical education at KFU.
In conclusion, Rector Gafurov gave out letters of commendation and memorable presents to the guests.
In the next few days, the delegates plan to tour KFU and hold a number of negotiations.
