Jizzakh Campus of Kazan Federal University officially greenlit by President of Uzbekistan
An executive order has been signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The branch’s main majors will be in geology, software engineering, economics, machine industry, medicine, pharmacy, and biochemistry.
Vice-Rector for Education Timirkhan Alishev comments on the matter, “The project was discussed a long time ago. An agreement and a roadmap have been prepared. On Friday [28 August] President of Uzbekistan signed the order, and the campus will be opened for the 2022/2023 academic year. Paperwork is now being prepared for the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, after which the campus will be licensed.”
The graduates of the campus will receive double diplomas of Russian and Uzbekistani standard. Jizzakh Branch will also have a board of employers.
“A number of companies are ready to dispatch students to the campus. We are now in discussions with them regarding the content of educational programs. In particular, they will be linked with automotive plants of Jizzakh Region, as well as geology and natural resources,” adds Vice-Rector Alishev.
The campus will occupy the premises formerly used by a military aviation school. It has 11 hectares of land and 40 thousand square meters of buildings. Renovations are funded by the Uzbekistani side.
